Genesis LGBTQ Fertility Support Group -- 2013-2014 - On hiatus

This group is for anyone in the Vancouver area identifying as LGBTQ and actively trying to conceive through the use of assisted reproduction (donors, surrogacy, IUI, IVF) and for those experiencing infertility. We offer a safe space to share information and to gain support. Facilitators will present information and resources on a specific topic related to LGBTQ family-building. Each meeting brings a new topic for discussion, followed by interactive discussion and sharing of tips, experiences, and stories with others. Facilitated by Holly Yager. 

Vancouver Infertility Support Group -- 2013-2015 - On hiatus

If you are actively trying to conceive, whether naturally or through the use of assisted reproduction, and are having a hard time getting (or staying) pregnant, then this support group is for you. The evening begins with a discussion of a fertility-related topic and ends with the opportunity to share support with others going through a similar experience. The Vancouver Infertility Support Group is endorsed by the Infertility Awareness Association on Canada. Facilitated by Emily Koert and Holly Yager.

 Addictions Counselling Theory and Practice -- November 2014 

This professional development workshop will provide an overview of the bio-psycho-social model of addiction and the addicted brain, and will provide participants with tools for assessing and treating clients based on best practices in the field. We will cover relapse prevention tools, making appropriate referrals, and working with clients at various stages of readiness for change. Facilitated by Naomi Kolinsky.

This support group is facilitated by Mima Preston and offered to parents of children with Type1 Diabetes, as part of the Canadian Diabetes Association's D-Camps program.
